Are you happy with what you have?
I am.
This isn’t to say that we shouldn’t have goals or dreams but to learn to enjoy the journey along the way of achieving your goals and dreams. For me, I always felt like I was in a rush to achieve these things but I think there is a reason they haven’t been achieved. I was simply not ready.
You see, with every goal and every dream that you have, there are certain responsibilities and character traits that you must have first to make sure that achieving that goal or dream won’t lead you to your own demise. People are rush in achieving it don’t consider the possible regrets one might have in achieving a goal that isn’t well defined.
For example, at one point in my life, I wanted a high paying job that. I worked my way up and eventually landed on a high paying job quite easily. As soon as I received the job, I knew that it wasn’t for me because I realized that it wasn’t only the pay that I was looking for but rather something that I could enjoy doing on a daily basis.
Don’t get me wrong, for those struggling out there that need to pay the bills, by all means, do what you have to do. This simply wasn’t the case for me and I knew the work wasn’t right for me but I continued to do it for quite some time. What ended up happening was that I would find myself self-sabotaging because I wasn’t happy with the work that I was doing or how my life was going on a daily basis.
This all started with the fact that I didn’t consider that money isn’t everything and it doesn’t make sense to do something that doesn’t help move you towards your goals in life simply for money. There are many ways to make money that can also be enjoyable but we first have to understand what are looking for. The more specific we are with what we want, the more likely we are to achieve them. So, be happy with what you have and achieve your goals but be ready to let go of the ones that aren’t right for you.
Until the next post, thank you for reading! As always, wishing you love and success!
