How We’ve Decided to Stop Taking Action and Began Over Consuming

Everyone is a consumer.

There is no way to not consume in this world and by consumption, I mean that we indulge in our five senses; touch, taste, hear, see and smell. A lot of people overdo this in one area or another or perhaps all areas. The question is “What is the point?”.

I think it makes sense that we have to consume to a certain degree and have material goals but it’s not conducive to us or the world when we seek more than we need. So, there is a need to find balance in achieving our goals and communicating our needs. Most of the people, people over consume because they aren’t able to deal with the realities of their lives, which leads to being unable to deal with their emotions.

For me, the problem I faced was that I had inadequacies and insecurities of not being enough. It lead to me over consuming social media, which perpetuated this problem and made it even worse. Rather than solving the problem, I attempted to escape reality by entertaining myself. You can see how can be a problem since instead of continually trying to solve it and communicate it as a problem that needed to be solved, I avoided it by consuming. This is the current problem for many people in our world. They are not able to communicate their problems and pursue their goals so instead sit idly on the side lines rather than taking action, which further leads to a troubled or stuck life.

It’s important for people to understand that what they want in this world is acceptable and we have to learn to communicate this in the real world. Otherwise, you will end up never really getting what you want out of life so slowly take action in small things and work your way up to the bigger things. They will inevitably come to you if you consistently work towards achieving them. What I’ve learned is that you’re able to achieve anything in this world if you truly desire it and communicate it in a way that helps your goals. You need to be able to tell the world what you’re looking for and what you want. Otherwise, the world won’t understand what you want and you’ll only get what it thinks you want.

Personally, I’ve learned the hard way that everything I got out of life was because I wasn’t effective in communicating my desires. It was only after I stopped over consuming and began taking action that my life started to shape into how I wanted it to be. While I still haven’t achieved my goals, I can see the progress of how consuming less and taking more small actions is important to achieving what I want.
