Money, Attention and Energy

If you were to Google; Money is Energy, you would find lots of resources touting what, how and why.

However, I believe more than half the time, there isn’t really much evidence to support that claim and it’s quite easy to claim something in hindsight. So, today, let this blog be a testament that money is energy through an experiment.

The experiment is that this blog will generate over 1 million dollars in around 1 year because I will be putting my energy into it and it will draw attention. Maybe it will work or maybe I’ll have to adjust how I utilize my energy or how I generate energy from this blog. I think either way, it’s a good way to test whether money is energy if I’m able to draw it here.

What about attention as the title includes attention? I believe a key component of the idea that money is energy includes focus and attention. What I mean is that if energy isn’t directed through focus and attention to the subject matter than the money won’t follow or would simply be trickling in. This would explain why people spend so much on entertainment, education, people and things. I believe they either direct our focus to what is being shown and/or draws our attention in.

For example, when it comes to entertainment, say you’re doom scrolling or watching a show, the medium is only as useful as it is able to keep your attention or direct your focus, which is what social media spends millions of dollars doing each and every year to figure out how to keep the attention of their target demographic.

Another example is when people spend money on education, usually because they spent the money, they direct their attention and energy to the cause at hand. Of course, there are people who drop out because a lot of people realize the opposite is also true, where, again, energy draws in money.

This explains why certain missions, goals and purposes are so powerful when it comes to money and energy because it sets a goal or targets for which employees are able to direct their energy and efforts.

To expand on the point above, this also explains why companies have such a big influence in our lives as consumers because they are able to direct our attention in the form of experiences.

For example, McDonald’s is able to direct our attention and focus to the point is creates an experience in our mind of what to expect when we are there. Certain technology companies such as Apple also give us an idea of what would happen if we were to walk into the store. As soon as we walk into one of these places, our attention, focus and energy is directed for us and they are rewarded handsomely with purchase from the customer without the customer even knowing why they really wanted the product. They’ve put a lot of time, thought, energy and money into directing your attention to what they’ve create and provide as a product and experience so it’s easy for consumers to direct their focus to these companies.

This blog, similar to the above companies will be doing the same but most likely on a smaller scale. In order to keep attention, I will do my best to provide as much value to you as possible through each and every post. Each and every post will hopefully provide useful nuggets of wisdom on how to navigate life. The idea is to direct your attention to these readings so that you’re able to better direct your own attention in real life. Life can be chaotic and we do our best to make sense of it starting here.

Until next time, thanks for reading!
